Turning The Page

There were so many song lyrics that came to mind when I started writing today.

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

“It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me, and I’m feeling good.”

“It’s time to see what I can do, to test the limits and break through.
No right, no wrong, no rules for me…”

“Drench yourself in words unspoken. Live your life with arms wide open.
Today is where your book begins. The rest is still unwritten.”

In a nutshell, it’s time for new things in my life. One of those things is the birth of a new blog. Welcome to the world, baby blog! (Sorry, I’m a mom. I couldn’t help it.)

Why start a new blog? I’ve blogged a lot in the past, but my latest career had me in a public position where I felt I needed to lock it up and put away my blotter for a while. I’m happy to say that I’m ready now to dust off the cobwebs and dip my pen back in the well! That blog was years ago and my life is so different now, I thought it was time for a new start.

Why now? It’s an idea that’s been brewing for a while. Now the timing is right. Today I said goodbye to a company I’ve spent over 8 years with, and a career I’ve spent 6 1/2 years learning and developing. If you include my time as a customer, I’ve actually been in a relationship with the company for 16 years. It’s bittersweet parting ways, but just toss in your choice of “moving on” metaphors or song lyrics from above, and I’m ready to see what my new future holds.

What’s next? I have a bunch of projects on my plate, and I’m looking forward to spending some much needed time with them. I’ve got a handful of children’s books drafted, and I’ve been helping occasionally with my husband’s side business (www.thebrokentoken.com), not to mention my favorite job as mommy to three year-old twins. And now of course, this blog.

I set a very generic resolution for 2015, more a theme than a goal: change. It’s just the seventh week of the year and, well, I think I can check off that resolution. I’m nervous and excited to see what other changes the year has in store for me…or, better yet, what changes I will make happen and what I will accomplish.

I have some ideas for future blog posts, and I’m happy to hear any ideas that you’d like to read about. Keep in touch with me via the comments below, Twitter, or anywhere else you find KindaTiffy online.

xoxoxo,
Tiffany

  1. Change does a soul much good, and the future never becomes clearer till you enter it. May you run to embrace it, conquer it, have it become your treasured past.

  2. Glad to see that you’re dusting yourself off and getting right out there with other things 😉 It’s been a long time since we met and writing is how we met. Let’s see where this new road leads! You’ve picked up some new skills and new companions since you last traveled this dusty trail of adventure. Allow them to lead you and enjoy the ride! 😀
